Cosette - Les Miserables

My Piece was inspired by the Broadway play "Les Misérables" Victor Hugo wrote Les Misérables, between 1848 and 1861, to draw attention to "the degradation of man by poverty, the ruin of woman by hunger, the wasting of the child by night." The work succeeded in drawing attention to the working conditions of women and children. Immediately successful, the novel inspired a stage version, parodies, an American film in 1909, and, more recently, a celebrated musical. I really enjoyed creating Cosette one of the characters featured in this play. She is all hand-sculpted out of paper clay as well as her boat. The sail in made from aged and distress paper and antiqued. This pieces measures 7"inches tall. Email me if you have additional questions.

Spring Ducky

This little ducky comes a top a sweet treat cupcake. This gal was so fun to create. She is sculpted from paper clay and painted in spring colors of blue, white and pale yellow. I also added silver tinsel to the base. I added a crepe paper collar for a bit of whimsy. This piece has been lightly antiqued. This piece measures 8”tall. Email me if you have additional questions.

Measure Of Love

I would have to say that when it come to love measuring how much you care for someone can something be hard. So this is what I came up created to represent a measure of love. This piece is sculpted from paper clay, wood, rusty wire, vintage paper, vintage spools and painted in colors of pale blue, red, and white. I also accented this piece with stamped twill tape which resemble measure tape. The bottom is accented with vintage spool which also have the twill measure to represent 2-1-4 for valentines day. The middle section has rusty wire. All pieces are securely attached. The entire piece is crackled and antiqued. The piece measures 17x6½ x3”.

1,2,3...Come Ride With Me

1, 2, 3... come ride with me on this Halloween to see the things that go bump in the night. This piece is sculpted from paper clay, wood, vintage papers and painted in the traditional Halloween colors of orange and black. I also accented this piece with vintage dictionary paper which shows the definition of Halloween and a few other words. The cats hat is accented with silver ribbon and made from paper. The base is an old wooden drawer painted black and accented with vintage paper. Inside the box I sculpted a trio of frightened Jack-O-Laterns. Duck rocker really rocks and is securely attached to the box.
The entire piece is crackled and antiqued.
This piece measures 9"x5½"x2".

Valentine's Day Girl Shaker with Stand

I love creating these shakers I decided to create a display stand so you can enjoy looking at them when you aren't shaking them all about. She is sculpted from paper clay and painted in the traditional Valentines colors of red and white. I also accented her with a paper hat and silver beads. The base is accented with vintage paper and colored and antiqued. The shaker piece measures 9 ½ ”tall and the stand is 4”tall. Figure in base measures 10”tall.

Holiday Santa

Holiday are such a delight. This sweet Santa is ready for bed but he has a few more treats to put underneath the tree. He is sculpted from paper clay and painted in the traditional colors of red, white, and green. I also added a mini tree and paper clay snowman to Santa hands. Santa is also accented with paper clay peppermint for buttons on both front and back. He is crackled and antiqued. This piece measures 7 1/2"tall.
